  1. I think what Bruce Springsteen is trying to say is that after 9/11, the country was devasted by such a tragic event. Lifes were lost, families were torn apart, and the country had been attacked for the first time in over 50 years. However, through all the pain, he's saying we have to come together and rise up through everything. Even through all the struggles, we have to unite because it will strengthen us. "Come on up, lay your hands in mine."

  2. I think he was trying to say that despite the tragedy, we can move on. He talked about how horrible the day was and how so many people died. He wants to tell people that we can get through those tragedies.

  3. In Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising", I think his message was a calling for Americans to come together and support each other. In the chorus he sings, "Come on up, lay your hands in mine" which is a good example of how people come together. Also, I think this song is a reflection how people's emotions were after this tragic event because he sings about skies of tears and emptiness.

  4. The message in the song is to recover from a horrible event, such as 9/11. Bruce Springsteen talks about coming out of the darkness, and "rising up". This has a literal meaning for the survivors escaping the rubble, as well as a figurative meaning for te country recovering and rebuilding after the attacks.

  5. I think the message of the song was that even after the tragedy of 9/11, a nation can still come together and get through the tough times together. The song reminds us that there is still something to live for even after something so tragic. The song instills hope of a better time even though 9/11 will always be remembered.

  6. The message behind Bruce Springsteen's song "The Rising" involves the sorrow that followed the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001. The song also portrays the strength America needed to rise together and conquer any fear or despair they had in the aftermath through the lyrics, “Come on up for the rising, Come on up lays your hands in mine.”

  7. I think the song talks about the devastation and shock that 9/11 left America in, but it also has a message of strength and unification. Bruce Springteen sings about how America became a more unified and patriotic nation as a result of the support that American's gave one another. The message is that when people come together they can overcome-- or "rise up" from-- any dark times they may encounter and become stronger from them.
